This is a great opportunity to join a long established and respected growing organisation as the Head of Organisational Development.  This role will see you become part of the Senior Management Team, leading the agenda for Organisation Development, Talent Management, Leadership Development, Employee Experience, Safety, Health and Wellbeing, and Culture initiatives.

This position will be a trusted partner and advisor to the CEO, functional leaders and employees and will focus on delivering best in class:

As a key member of the Senior Management Team, the Head of Organisational Development will be responsible for implementing effective strategic and operational HR that aligns with the Trust values and enables the organisation to achieve its goals and growth through our people.

The key objectives of the Head of Organisational Development is to build capacity and capability through the delivery of Talent Management & career development, Employee Engagement, Reward & Recognition and Learning & Development strategies that will create a diverse, skilled and high performing organisational team.

Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualified in HR, T&D, Psychology or other related discipline.
  • Membership of CIPD or similar professional body.
  • Significant HR management experience (ideally 5+ years) particularly in the areas of organisational development, Learning & staff development, succession planning and Employee Engagement and culture.
  • A strong understanding of the role HR plays in strategic and operational planning processes and the experience to translate the development of HR strategy into operational delivery.
  • Proven ability and experience of driving and supporting cultural change.
  • Solid track record delivering in a similar role and level.
  • Experience in building relationship and working with staff and management at all levels.
  • Experience in managing all aspects of People Processes within an organisation.
  • Experience of leading people initiatives from ideation to design to implementation and review to continually drive an enhanced employee experience
  • Be agile and pragmatic in approach and keep up to date with new HR philosophies.
  • Enjoy working in a HR leadership role and be well versed in all technical people matters.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Excellent project and people management skills.
  • Natural Coach and Mentor with the ability to establish strong relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Trustworthy and approachable demeanour.

  • Strong working knowledge of key Microsoft Office packages; Excel, Word, Outlook etc.                                       
  • Full clean driving license and ability to attend multi-site as needed.

Desirable

  • IT knowledge of HR database software packages.
  • Programme and/or project management experience.
  • Current or previous experience working or volunteering in housing, and/or homeless related services.

Primary Accountabilities

Organisational Development

  • Continually review and monitor the organisation and functional resource mix and respond with appropriate action to deliver people capability and needs for the Organisation strategy to be delivered.
  • Influence key decisions to ensure the pragmatic application of best practice in people management.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with staff, managers and stakeholders to deliver change initiatives in line with the needs of the organisation.
  • Work collaboratively and closely with the CEO and SMT to ensure the HR Strategy is implemented.
  • Work collaboratively with SMT to establish and deliver a robust and future fit Internal Communications Framework.
  • Take lead responsibility for developing and implementing strategic adjustments to policies, procedures and processes in areas such as recruitment, development and retention, people management, performance management and reward and recognition.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on high level ER related cases/queries and on the people implications of management decisions.
  • Develop a core set of data and metrics to identify and aid delivery of core ‘value add’ (continuous improvement) people related activities.
  • Lead on all HR projects and/or HR elements of change programs across the Trust as appropriate.
  • Act as a consultant to the organisation in assessment of capability for change the appropriate pace of change for each initiative.

Talent Management

  • Implement a strategic workforce plan to ensure the Trust has a strong talent pipeline aligned with/for critical succession and career pathways / progression
  • Collaborate with the Head of Strategy and Communications to define and promote the Employer Brand in the external market to bolster talent acquisition activity and needs.
  • Oversee and participate as needed in the hiring at all levels of the business to ensure delivery of effective & efficient end-to-end recruitment processes across functions.
  • Work with the team managers to measure and continually improve team effectiveness, motivation and engagement.
  • Advise and guide managers on any team or individual performance concerns, impacting on the required performance standard, key deliverables or priorities being achieved.
  • Lead and drive a programme of Leadership Development across the Trust.
  • Drive the planning, coordination and delivery of staff and management training including mandatory H&S, and Trust training requirements against agreed Training Matrix and plans.
  • Develop and deliver a Diversity and Inclusion Policy and plan aligned with talent needs.
  • Support and coach managers in relation to all people management needs.

Employee Experience

  • Create the Employee Engagement Action Plan reflecting the collective voice of all staff and their priorities.
  • Drive the engagement plan, reinforcing and bringing to life the desired values and behaviours of the Trust.
  • Oversee all employee relations issues to ensure they are handled fairly, consistently and in line with procedure and legislation.
  • Be a point of contact for staff and management and available to provide advice and support as required on any HR related matters.
  • Work with all stakeholders to enhance relevant employee communications and mechanisms and deliver a positive and engaged mind-set across the Trust.

HR Operations

  • Oversee and guide all HR policies and procedures / T&Cs ensuring they are compliant with current employment law, accurate and fit for current and future purpose.
  • Oversee and guide the introduction and development of the HRIS System and payroll integration.
  • Support payroll and pension processes. 
  • Management of the HR and learning & development Budget and Workplan delivery.

Safety Health and Wellbeing

  • Contribute to the overall long term strategic vision for the Safety, Health and Wellbeing activities of the Trust.
  • Create with the SHW Officer the Annual Workplans to deliver the Strategic Activities and maintain a high standard of governance.
  • Oversight and Line Management for Safety Health and Wellbeing Officer and agenda.

General

  • Aligned with the ethos and values of the Iveagh Trust.
  • Relationship Management / Networking –build and maintain strong working relationships with key relevant external partners as well as with internal stakeholders.
  • Reporting – Monitor trends, measure delivery. Provide monthly reporting of KPI’s and efficiencies, budget spend, health and safety items and compliance tracking.
  • People Management and Leadership –Demonstrate a strong and consistent leadership style exhibiting the values and ethos of The Iveagh Trust.  Support, educate and develop the team members as required to ensure the continuous improvement of the team and therefore services and delivery.
  • Quality Management –Ensure all required records are up-to-date and accurate and provide reports as necessary to fulfil compliance with external regulation and Iveagh Trust requirements and standards.
  • Innovation – Applycreative approach in regard to all aspects of the role for the betterment of staff and residents and the Iveagh Trust, in its goal to provide a high-quality service for all.
