In November 2019, The National Development Finance Agency, acting as agent for the Department of Housing (the Sanctioning Authority) and Cork County Council (the Sponsoring Agency on behalf of all local authorities involved), announced the contract award of the Social Housing Bundle 2, Public Private Partnership project, to Torc Housing Partnership. TORC, a consortium including Equitix Ltd/Kajima Partnerships Ltd, JJ Rhatigan/OHL, Derwent FM, and Tuath Housing, secured the contract for the program, across eight site locations, located in 6 counties.
By 2021, TORC accomplished a significant milestone, completing all 465 ‘A’ rated energy-efficient homes, now catering for the housing needs of over 1200 people. TORC’s approach emphasises community engagement and inclusiveness, promoting long-term economic growth and a positive environmental impact. The TORC Foundation was created to support local communities in achieving social and educational goals. TORC fosters effective communication through ‘Let’s TORC’ events, promoting project partnerships and community development.
