Social housing estates are becoming increasingly diverse culturally. We all see the vibrancy that gives to life in our communities. We also see challenges as our tenants and staff are asked to interact with people that are different than ourselves in some significant ways. We know that this can lead to conflict and hostility at times.
The Quality on Diversity project asks AHBs to make intercultural diversity a strategic imperative in their work of providing quality homes in sustainable communities and to have a whole-organisation commitment to this. Ultimately the three organisations, Circle/Clúid/Respond, are working towards development of an Intercultural Diversity Quality Standard for AHB’s, that can be shared amongst the sector.
