This project creates eight new independent own-door supported homes in an historic landmark building in Cork city centre. The 19th century St. Joachim & Anne’s building was completely refurbished and extended for Cork Simon Community to meet a critical need: to provide housing for people experiencing long-term homelessness, many of whom have complex needs, and to accommodate training and support programmes for the tenants.
The development is deeply sustainable, revitalising an historic building with significant architectural and social heritage value, preventing it from falling into disuse, while providing critical services to tackle homelessness in the heart of Cork city.
