Non-profit housing associations working in Clare, Limerick and Tipperary North will meet on Monday 23rd June in the Clarion Hotel, Limerick City at 7.00pm to discuss key issues relating to the sector.
At this meeting, Cross Kilbaha Community Housing Association board members will be presented with a cheque from BHP Insurances representing one year’s insurance cover as they are the 150th ICSH member to join the Group Insurance Scheme.
Representatives from Clare County Council will be attending the presentation, as will BHP Insurances, the ICSH and many members from the region.
ICSH Group Insurance Scheme
During the past number of years many of our members experienced significant increases in their insurance premiums and in some instances difficulty in obtaining cover at all.
In 2004, the ICSH arranged a members’ insurance facility with Eagle Star Insurance Company through the agency of BHP Insurances Ltd.
The principle objectives behind this initiative were:
- To obtain a substantial reduction in insurance costs, without in any way compromising the level of covers or protection on offer.
- To secure an insurance product specifically tailored to the needs of the membership, and for which all members will qualify.
- To secure a consistency of pricing into the future and remove any uncertainty for new members in obtaining cover
- To offer members the facility of having their current insurance requirements reviewed and where necessary to secure additional covers on an individual member basis.
To date over 160 housing associations (over half of ICSH members) have joined the scheme with the average saving for housing associations being 40+%. The scheme has been a great success and continues to grow from strength to strength.
