ICSH Finance and Development Conference 2024: Achieving our Ambitions – Social and Affordable Housing Delivery for the Next Decade

Achieving our Ambitions: Social & Affordable
Housing for the next Decade

16th & 17th October 2024 – Radisson Blu Hotel, Sligo

The 2024 ICSH Finance & Development Conference, Achieving our Ambitions: Social & Affordable Housing for the next Decade will take place in The Radisson Blu Hotel in Sligo on October 16th & 17th. This year the focus looks to the new landscape for social housing delivery and how these key changes are setting a new stage for high quality and sustainably funded housing in line with ambitious new targets. The conference attracts leaders, innovators, and key decision makers from across the housing landscape, with delegates from approved housing body staff and board members, local authority officers and elected members, government department officials and representatives from the wider community and voluntary sector as well as finance professionals.

In the context of a strategic review of the approved housing body sector, welcome scrutiny and recommendations in the Housing Commission Report, a shifting political environment, and the acute challenges of the current housing supply and affordability crisis – all against the backdrop of Housing for All, the housing sector (public and private) is driven to look for innovative approaches and good practice from across Ireland and Europe as we move into the future.

This year’s ICSH Finance & Development Conference, proudly supported once again by AIB, is the ninth conference focusing solely on issues of finance, development and delivery. Since its inception, this event has a core event for leaders in the field of housing delivery to discuss challenges, share expertise and develop solutions.

Our expert line up of speakers and contributors will be announced in the coming weeks. As always, we hope that conference sessions will provide learning, encourage discussion and stimulate action.

Speakers and themes for conference sessions will consider:

  • The new landscape impacting the social and affordable housing sector
  • Strategic Review of the Approved Housing Body sector
  • Considerations to achieve heightened delivery
  • Housing finance opportunities to scale up delivery
  • The importance of a clear data picture
  • Innovation in the construction sector
  • Resource planning and organisational growth
  • Asset management and protecting investments
  • Cost rental and creating affordable housing options
  • Partnership working and collaboration

This year we welcome a new segment to the Conference as we move into an innovative space of thinking to the future with our very own Dragons Den style Social Impact Challenge pitching session. The ICSH, alongside our conference partner AIB, will soon be inviting entries from AHBs and Local Authorities to present their social impact project linked to the housing and community space we strive to improve. The ICSH team will be calling for entries in the coming weeks so watch this space!
