Park West Plaza stands as a pioneering residential development, representing Ireland’s first large-scale office-to-residential conversion project, creatively addressing housing shortages. It strategically added a floor to the Plaza Office building, maximising density with minimal environmental impact while enhancing aesthetics and sustainability.
Innovative design solutions include the creation of garden rooms, ensuring year-round usability without compromising living space. These spacious apartments are bathed in natural light. While the Plaza’s exterior maintains its original appearance, interior modifications optimise space and maintain ample light.
This collaborative project, delivered by Tuath Housing and Harcourt Developments, supported by Dublin City Council, and funded by AIB’s social housing fund and the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, now provides housing for over 200 people from Dublin City Council’s housing list. This transformation promotes sustainable urban development by repurposing existing infrastructure and reducing the need for new construction.
