2009 National Social Housing Conference

The 2009 Irish Council for Social Housing Biennial Social Housing Conference took place 15th – 17th September 2009 in the Sheraton Hotel, Athlone, Co. Westmeath.

A review of the conference including details of events, speakers, awards and outcomes can be downloaded here.

The theme of ” Delivering Housing Solutions for a New Era” reflected a number of new realities since the last Biennial Social Housing Conference on 2007. This New Era corresponds to a dramatic economic downturn which has meant less capital funding yet the need for social housing and the services it comprises has significantly increased. The fast moving environment has meant that the social housing sector has had to readjust and develop new delivery models, some of which were discussed at the conference.
