The ICSH will host a webinar on Thursday, 24th September from 2-3pm on the incoming statutory regulation framework for housing associations (AHBs). Speakers from the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government will include Sinead Brennan, Susan Murphy and Stella McKervey and they will provide an overview and update on the new regulatory system and the transitional arrangements.
The Housing (Regulation of Approved Housing Bodies) Act 2019 was signed into law on December 23rd, 2019,and commencement dates will be announced in due course. The new Act will allow for the establishment of the Approved Housing Bodies Regulatory Authority to oversee the effective governance, financial management and performance of all voluntary and co-operative housing bodies.
Statutory regulation will replace the current voluntary framework which has been in place since 2013 and will impact every housing association in the sector.
Who Should Attend?
This webinar will be of relevance to all housing association board members and staff at all tier levels and will give an introduction into the incoming statutory regulation framework. We strongly advise that at least one member of each of our member organisations attend.
