Launch of ICSH Strategic Plan 2022-2026 and the Housing Association Activity Report 2021

We were very please to launch our Strategic Plan 2022-2026 and the Housing Association Activity Report 2021 in the beautiful surroundings of the Goethe Institute, Dublin 2 on Wednesday 29th June 2022.

In attendance were ICSH member organisations, elected officials (councillors and TDs), staff from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Approved Housing Body Regulatory Authority, the Housing Agency as well as other statutory partner organisations. We were pleased to see such a strong turnout for our first proper in-person event in recent times.

Our Housing Association Activity Report 2021 (https://icsh.ie/resources/housing-association-activity-report-2021/) documents the 3,792 new AHB homes in total that were delivered in 2021. Despite challenges in 2021 arising from COVID-19 and supply chain issues in the development pipeline, the sector managed to increase the delivery of homes by over 14% in 2021 compared to 2020 which was a welcome response. This is our Activity Report on the delivery of homes by AHBs in 2021.

Our 2022-2026 Strategic Plan (https://icsh.ie/resources/irish-council-for-social-housing-strategic-plan-2022-2026) was also launched. The five-year plan is to provide direction to the ICSH in supporting the role of members in a rapidly evolving housing environment with a particular focus on what the sector needs to achieve by 2026.

Finally, our Housing Association Performance Management (HAPM) Report 2021 (https://icsh.ie/resources/housing-association-performance-management-hapm-report-2021-final-report-results-and-reflections/) was launched. Developed as a pilot project by the ICSH in 2004 to put in place formal performance management practices at a time when the governance and regulatory landscape of the approved housing body (AHB) sector looked very different, this report is our final one. The report identifies that (amongst other metrics) 98.7% of rent owed by AHB tenants was collected and 2.8% of rent from current tenancies was in arrears in 2021.
