Recent events at Respond!

Respond! has held a number of events recently, making for a busy end to the year. Minister Paudie Coffey welcomed the opening of the St. John’s College development which comprises 57 new units of accommodation which will greatly help the housing situation in Waterford City.

This housing scheme was showcased also at the Waterford Festival of Architecture, Behind Closed Doors, on the 17th of October.
 

Respond! and UCC organised a joint conference on loneliness and social isolation among older people, Housing and Community Perspectives, which took place in Respond!’s new conference facility in John’s College on 26th November 2015.

Respond! also recently hosted an event celebrating the successful completion of Energy Efficient Upgrade Works to 550 Respond! Homes including 54 in Ennis. The event took place at Orchard Grove, Ennis, Co Clare. The assembled included local dignitaries, LA officials, Local TD’s, Public Representatives and Respond! tenants.

Finally, Respond! College celebrated the graduation of the first cohort of Certificate in Community Studies students in both Dublin and Cork. This new qualification saw the graduation of 32 students with a Level 6 Certificate in Community Studies
