Keynote speaker at the ICSH AGM 2020, Professor Gerard Quinn, Raoul Wallenberg Institute (Sweden) and Research Chair (University of Leeds), has a particular interest in the intersectionality between old age and disability. He has recently highlighted the risks to vulnerable people and older people in residential settings. Professor Quinn’s presentation highlights, among other things, the costs of institutionalisation versus community care, and he calls for ‘legislation for a right to community living’.
