Financing the Future Delivering the Next Decade of Social and Affordable Housing is the 10th ICSH Finance Conference. Our first, in 2008, was a modest seminar ‘Understanding Housing Finance’, with the goal of upskilling AHB board members on good practice in financial management. A biennial event, the subsequent 2010 conference ‘Financial Management in a changing environment’ reflected a country that was getting deeper into recession. AHB delivery went from 1,685 in 2007 to 678 in 2010 and only 211 by 2013. In 2025, our members delivered 7,005 social and cost rental homes.
On back of record delivery by the AHB sector and leading the way with the new tenure of cost rental, what does the future of AHB delivery and finance look like given the significant changes being introduced through the government’s Delivering Homes, Building Communities 2025-2030 housing plan and the long term vision for the sector as set out in the Report of the Approved Housing Body (AHB) Strategic Forum?
The 2026 conference, sponsored by EnviroBead, will be a discussion of the key pillars of delivery and funding underpinning these key sector documents, with a focus on the social value delivered by the AHB sector and a practical exploration of executing delivery and accessing finance for AHB members in collaboration with the sector’s primary stakeholders
