About Oaklee Housing

Oaklee Housing is a growing Approved Housing Body with responsibility for over 2,500 homes nationwide. The organisation completed its deconsolidation from Choice Housing in 2023, marking a major strategic shift to build its own internal capacity and governance structures. Oaklee is now entering a significant phase of growth and development, with plans to increase its housing portfolio by 40% by 2026. As an agile Approved Housing Body, Oaklee has the ability to adapt quickly and offer technical staff meaningful input into strategy and decision-making. The organisation is investing in people, systems, and data to strengthen compliance, reduce reliance on external consultants, and support sustainable growth.

Oaklee’s culture is shaped by three core values:

  • Agility – working flexibly across teams, responding quickly to need, and acting decisively.
  • Empathy – being genuine and human, listening openly, and striving to do better.
  • Ambition – focusing on expertise, innovation, continuous improvement, and learning from experience.

About the Asset Management Function

The Asset Management function supports long-term investment planning, compliance and technical governance across Oaklee’s homes. This role supports the Planned Investment Manager in delivering surveying, inspection and planned works programmes and contributes to building internal technical capability.

Role Purpose

The Property Surveyor (Asset Management) is a technical role within Oaklee’s Asset Management function. You will support planned investment, stock condition intelligence and remediation activity across a national residential portfolio. You will carry out building pathology and condition surveys, support project scoping and delivery, and produce clear technical reporting that supports investment decisions at scheme and portfolio level.

You will work closely with the Planned Investment Manager, Sustainability Officer, Admin Manager and operational teams, and you will coordinate with external consultants and contractors where specialist input is required. This role offers an opportunity to help build an in-house technical function, improve asset data quality, and reduce reliance on external consultants over time.
